Student Orchestra Workshop

About the event
In March 2025, third-level music students stepped into the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre orchestra pit to learn and play the ouvertures to Wagner's The Flying Dutchman. Over a three-hour sessions, Artistic Director Fergus Sheil gave a workshop and at the end the student orchestra played the entire ouverture. For almost all of them, this was the first time that they played an overture in an actual orchestra pit.
